You can still have long, gorgeous locks without the frayed ends that appear when growing it out without maintenance trimming! It's also worth noting that a nice balayage or highlighted look can sometimes look washed out, or unkempt if the hair is too long for the style! We never want to flush out the beauty of our faces either, having a shorter (but still long!) cut can really accentuate your natural beauty and shape. Also something to keep in mind - once split ends start to form, they only keep splitting up the strand! Chop them off before serious damage can be done.
